Writing gratitude lists each day or reciting them out loud has been a great tool for me to stay positive. More recently, I have been part of a gratitude chain with a friend and it keeps us accountable. It also helps us see more clearly all of the blessings we have in our day, particularly when we're having a challening time. I find what I focus on grows, so when I focus on the good things in my life or around me, I tend to draw in more of them. A gratitude list could even include things like "Thank you, God, for my healthy skin and that my car tires don't need replacing. Thank you that I have enough gas in my car to get where I need to go today." The simpler, often the better.
Another habit I like to do at the end of each day 5-5-5-5. Writing down or saying out loud five things you are grateful for, five things you did well, five things you love about yourself, and five things over which you are powerless.
This helps to end the day on a good note and give the rest to God.
