Holiness
I remember during high school, a guy I was seeing went to Tibet and touched the Dalai Lama. I didn't know too much about Tibet or Buddhism at the time, but he got to spend the summer abroad and it was an honor to get to touch him. I saw him speak once in LA and Maria Shriver presented him. I loved seeing her up there. What an inspiration she is to me! She is such a light, a leader, an incredibe mom, a friend and a beauty. She has raised such good kids too! It's nice to see a

Wow!
The other day, as I was relaxing in my home, I noticed an incredible peach colored sunset with crystal like clouds. A few days before, we had visited the graves of my two friends who had passed duirng childhood and early adulthood and brought them flowers. It was a tender time. We went on Father's Day. It felt like a spiritual week. As I was glimpsing out the window, it felt like it was my mother. I think it was. I've only felt this energy once before since she passed which w

JESUS: Praise the King
Today, as I was having a difficult day commiserating over some real life issues, I asked the Lord to send me another angel. He sent me my grandmother. I was reading Matthew 11 in my Bible and the page I opened to was her birthday. When I opened the computer, the time was her birthday. I am so grateful for God's divine justice and Jesus interceding when we need it the most. "The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not

Malibu
Last year, during the last week of 2024, I spent time at a rental property on the beach in Malibu. I was very grateful for this experience as a week later, was affected by the fire in numerous ways. Many churches, hikes, and homes I spent time in burnt down. The beauty and gift of it all was I had the opportunity to say goodbye nearly a week before it all unfolded. I am so grateful and lucky and blessed to have God on my side today and get to have one incredinle amazing exper

Finding Hope in Rainbows
'To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in its perfect power. Or the climbing, falling colors of a rainbow.' - Maya Angelou I have seen so many rainbows this year- usually when I'm driving or on a journey to meet someone special. Recently, I went to pick up one of my favorite people at the airport, and as I was driving, I saw this incredibly rainbow, below: I was ecstatic. I love rainbows because they remind me of people who I love very much who have moved

Meeting an Angel
The other day, while I was travelling, I stopped by a new nail salon to get my nails done. I was immediately greeted with kindness, warmth, and love by the four people who were in there- one client and three aestheticians. The lady who was doing my nails began sharing her story with me. She told me of her health struggles and how she chose not to save her eggs and have more children (after her two boys who are now teenagers), because she didn't know if she would be around for

Miracles of Prayer
On the heels of 9/11, we remember those brave souls that risked their lives for others and those who were victims of a horrible tragedy. We also remember the way the pain and sadness of the situation brought people together to support one another and express the endless, undying love of God. I had a family member who worked on the top of Tower 1. After his building was struck by an airplane, we were watching the news, assuming he had passed, my family was panicking. A few hou

What you wear, matters.
The other day, when I was leaving the gym, I noticed a woman with two young children. She was dressed in a nude colored leotard type outfit with most of her body exposed. The little girl beside her was reaching up and touching the skin on what appeared to be her mother's back. There was something about this scenario that frightened me and upset me at the same time Unspoken, it looked as if the little girl, was acknowledging to her mother "Hey, are you sure you really want to

Reframing Failure and Growth
There have been many times in my life when I have failed, even in front of many people. It was not pretty, and quite embarrassing at the time, though I have learned many valuable lessons from this experience I have learned resilience and not to care about what others think. It's none of my business what other people think about me! I have learned ot believe in myself despite many setbacks and divine interruptions. I've learned that "how far down the scale I go," I can depend

Understanding Others
I had a friend in middle school. I remember him saying to me that he would rather be anyone else besides he was. It was very painful to hear. He did not believe in himself and felt so frustrated with who he was and did not feel like other people liked him or accepted him. I had compassion for him. We became friends and he later came out. I'm grateful that he finally accepted himself and all of the good things in his life and all that he had to offer. He is a very smart man an

Be Kind.
There have been many times when I felt lost, left out, or confused in life and someone went out of their way to help me in a kind, compassionate, and loving way. It felt so good to be lifted up and supported and to feel the interconnection of all things. Compliments, encouragement, and generous gestures like holding the door for someone or helping them with their groceries are just some of the ways kindness may be expressed. It is said that "Kindness is the highest wisdom" an

Bringing Truths into the Open
A few years ago, I was training for a triathlon with a coach in the area. Training was going well and I was enjoying the challenge and focusing on improving my skills. This coach had successfully completed several Ironman races herself and trained many different groups of men and women. After a while training with her, I read her instagram post that someone who she had been training had been shot by her boyfriend and killed. I had no personal relationship with this woman. Thi

The Lessons of Our Ancestors
My father recently shared with me an article written up in the Stanford Business Alumni publication about my paternal grandfather, George Larsen Lindahl, who was a war hero and survivor made it out from one of the most treacherous prison camps in the East during World War II. He credited his survival in part to his Stanford education as he said many of the Japanese natives who ran the camp he was contained in valued education and his hard work ethic, and therefore, they would
