Furry friends! Pets are so important and bring so much joy, humor, affection, and fun to our lives. I have had many pets throughout my life and all of them have added a special twist. My cat Rosie that I got at age five years old lived until she was almost twenty and very important to me during my childhood through early twenties. She was found in a gutter at six weeks old and she appreciated having a safe space to live where she had her needs met. She was there during good times as well as moments of pain. She wouldn't judge me when I cried, felt afraid or got angry. She just laid on my bed each night, consistently, being her warm, loving self.
Currently, I own two cats and anytime I am upset or sad, they know and come over to sit in my lap. They are drawn to me in those times. They are Devon Rex cats which are a pretty unique breed of cats. I am incredibly blessed to have this breed because they are hypoallergenic. They have unique personalities too which I didn't really know beforehand. They are like dogs as they like to fetch, talk a lot, require playtime, and love to sit on your lap and be loved. I loved my cat growing up, but she was not that interested in being held or pet or anything of the sort...really...
These cats can feel when I am connecting to God through prayer, small groups, or reading scriptures. They love the feeling of divine connection and feel subtle energies through the house. This helps me feel safe.

I love them so much and they are my cheerful, silly pals who just seem to make me laugh, bring me joy, and make life more joyful and lighter in the process.
If possible, in your life situation, I highly recommend getting a pet. They are such gifts.
