"I wear my new shoes..."

If you have not already heard the song by Mr. Eric "Pete the Cat and His White Shoes," you should listen to it. It's a good one.

In any event, it got me thinking about MY new pair of shoes, from BodenUSA.com which I love. Just looking at them brings me joy. A lot of joy. I had a friend once tell me, "Go and buy a scarf that is just YOU. One that reminds you of who you are and something you just love." It's nice to be reminded YOU are unique and can do what's best for you, what you enjoy, and what you want! You don't have to try to please anyone or make anyone else happy besides yourself. How freeing it is to actually believe it and know it in our hearts.

We were created as individuals who each have different unique gifts, and we are meant to work TOGETHER to acheive great things that none of us could achieve alone. 1 Corinthians 12:26 speaks of how we are all connected and says: "If one part suffers, every part suffers with it. If one part is honored, every part shares in its joy" and Romans 15:1 "We who are strong ought to bear the failings of the weak," meaning we all get to be there for one another and give back in whatever form that takes.

It also speaks to how important we are to God and how each one of us has value. He made us all for a different purpose but to work together to achieve an even greater purpose.

Some questions to ponder are:

How do you feel God uses you to serve His/Her Kingdom?

What are your spiritual gifts and strengths?

How can you better serve others and most importantly, how do you serve God?

What brings you the most joy?
