What you wear, matters.

The other day, when I was leaving the gym, I noticed a woman with two young children. She was dressed in a nude colored leotard type outfit with most of her body exposed. The little girl beside her was reaching up and touching the skin on what appeared to be her mother's back. There was something about this scenario that frightened me and upset me at the same time Unspoken, it looked as if the little girl, was acknowledging to her mother "Hey, are you sure you really want to be showing the world all of these parts of your body?" The mother or stepmother didn't really seem to think anything of it, but to the little girl, it seemed to make both of them vulnerable.

As a mother, and woman, it is very important what we teach our children- what we wear, how we dress, what we say, who we say it to, how we treat the people we love or anyone around us. To be walking around in an outfit like that tells the little girl that that is okay and acceptable. It's okay, but probably not the best we can do or the example God would want us to set for our children. He wants us to feel loved for who we are.

“Your beauty should not come from outward adornments, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.”

1 Peter 3:3-4
